Tarka Dhal Masala

In India dhal (lentil) is cooked everyday in one form or another by the richest and the poorest. This is a very simple recipe and ideal as an accompaniment. Toor/Arhar (Red gram) and channa (Bengal gram) make an excellent combination for this. Especially rich in proteins for vegetarians. Trya adding some amchur (mango powder) for an extra tang.
Ingredients: Mixed lentils, turmeric, asafoetida, chilli, spices, curry leaves.
