Often eaten on special occasions in Indonesia and Malaysia, Rendang is a rich dish with coconut cream and tomatoes, combining certain Indian spices with Thai ingredients to create a wonderful intense thick sauce to coat the meat.
If using beef, slice it across the grain into long thin strips to allow it to cook quickly and evenly.
