Can kids cook club visit our shop in York.

Earlier this year some children from can kid’s cook club visited our shop in York. Sharron Massey started the club back in 2010 from her home in Strensall. There, up to six children go through two recipes step by step. They also have to help out with the washing up! It’s a great way to get children enthusiastic about good food. Sharon tells us they cook all sorts from picnic omelettes to bean burgers. The kids get to take what they cook home along with copies of the recipes.

So this time they were doing curry and we were more than happy to help them out. We talked to the children about the different spices and got them smelling some of the unusual ones. We also gave them some samples to try including some mango lassi which they thoroughly enjoyed. We also gave the children one of our Curry packs so they could cook up a nice curry back at their club.

We received some great feedback from the children and they tell us their parents really enjoyed the curry too! We always pride ourselves on giving our customers the best service and it was extra special for us to help out these budding young chefs.
