Using the curry mixes
By lfernandez @ 13:10 :: 6092 Views :: 24 Comments :: :: Using the Mixes

Here is an example of the instructions that will come with each Curry pack. Each pack does have slightly different instructions and additional requirements but this method illustrates the four main steps involved.

step 1 – Empty the contents of Rafi's Curry Pack into a large saucepan or wok.

step 2 – Add 300ml of cold water, simmer gently for 5-8  minutes or until a thick consistency has been achieved.

step 3 – Add 1kilogram of raw ingredients of your choice. Mix well and cover.

step 4 – Simmer gently until all the ingredients are cooked. For best results serve the following day.

My friend gave me a sachet of Tikka Masala, brought it home to Spain and made a chicken curry, absolutely delicious, do you send your products abroad?

Bought a Balti and Thai Yellow from shop in York, and froze them when we got home. Had both in the last couple of weeks and were excellent. Full of flavour and easy to use (although wife thought the Balti was a bit hot)
Excellent help in the shop as well

Just been in to Rafis in York for the first time. Very impressed with the service from Lee and the young woman. Loads of advice about samosas and own made bhajis, can't wait to get started, will keep you informed and will be shopping again.

Bought 3, ate 3, enjoyed all & also saved me time to enjoy other things. Can i please make a suggestion? Once you have made your dish put it in a slow cooker for a few hours & then serve later. Also marinade meat for Tikka dishes prior BBQ & then add to dish instead of a traditional clay pot oven for authentic dishes Thank You

i tried your madras at xmas and i have to say it was one of the best curries i have ever had. i added chicken, sweet potatoes and fine beans and slow cooked it in a tagine in the oven for about 2 hrs. not only did the whole house smell great but the curry was superb.

Tried a chicken madras at Christmas in York courtesy of my father-in-law. Have to say it was the best curry I have ever had outside of India. As a result, just been to Sudbury to get a selection for the coming months. Try them - you won't believe how good they are!

By Mary=Bedfordshire @ 03 February 2008 22:48
Cooked a chicken madras for partners family.Delicious authentic flavours much much better than any ready mix sauces. Will be getting my order in soon.

By bobleonard @ 06 February 2008 18:03
I have used many of your products and found them to be excellent. I have also frozen some of the sauces and this does not impair the taste. It is diificult to know which is the best.I keep recommending them to friends and colleagues. I have been making my own curry sauce for many years and for me these products are the best

We live in Japan, where the curry isn't anywhere near as good as authentic Indian. We I got four packets as a Xmas present and, as I made each one up over time up, my husband was so thrilled, he'd ask to have curry for BREAKFAST! Thanks to Rafi's, he thinks I'm a Kitchen Goddess and our house smells just scrumptious. I'm ordering more today! 'Way better than what we can get here!

By Big Tone @ 29 April 2008 19:35
We bought 3 packs two years ago and all were ACE. We return to York in October 2008 and we will head back to the shop for more. 10 out of 10 for the packs and end product
