Here is an example of the instructions that will come with each Curry pack. Each pack does have slightly different instructions and additional requirements but this method illustrates the four main steps involved.

step 1 – Empty the contents of Rafi's Curry Pack into a large saucepan or wok.

step 2 – Add 300ml of cold water, simmer gently for 5-8 minutes or until a thick consistency has been achieved.

step 3 – Add 1kilogram of raw ingredients of your choice. Mix well and cover.

step 4 – Simmer gently until all the ingredients are cooked. For best results serve the following day. |

I received a present from my friend Sylvia of Rogan Josh mix. I made my curry last night and I have to say it was delicious better than any Idian restarant that i have been to where I live. It was a very authentic curry.
Will definetely order my curry mix from here

I found this shop in York in the summer, the smell as you go in is fabulous. The curries are wonderful, and I've just completed an order online after finishing the last of the vindaloo. Great curries, great value (makes 4 greedy servings each pack), and the best by far of any curry you could buy in a supermarket. Better than most resteraunts.

We have been using Rafi's for a long time now, and frankly nothing can touch the recipies provided. Rafi is lovely and always prepared to offer any advise you may need. Simply first class. Particularly the Xacutti and Rogan Josh ( Minus the cloves for Tracy ) !!

I found the shop in York 2 years ago and must have gone in at a bad time because I found the staff there most Unhelpful. Fortunately the aroma was so seductive that I persevered and now regularly buy online. Am reluctant to go in the shop again but ordering online is simple, the order is delivered very quickly and I would recommend the Dopiaza as the best I have ever tasted!

i too did experience unpleasantness in the york store - i obviously asked a wrong question and got shouted at! however the curry packs are soooo amazing i'm happy to go to the shop or online

Really can't understand the previous two comments - we called in the York shop for the first time yesterday and the guy who served us was more than pleasant and polite and extremely helpful. We do wonder about leaving it two years to complain about poor service - our experience is do it there and then if you want something done about it !! Anyway, that aside we will be back or ordering via the net - most satisfied with both product and service. Thank you.

I cooked 3 curries for my girlfriends birthday party and the lot went......it was so easy to cook them up before hand and just warm them up on the night.....people went back time and again....Even my girlfriends friend Sunjeeve complimented me, at that point I had to come clean about Rafi's spice box

I have been using Rafis for a few years and discovered them through my local butcher, I have recommended to friends abroad who cannot find decent Indian food. I regularly use them for large supper parties as they eliminate a great deal of effort without sacrificing taste; they are a cheaperand healthier alternative to takeaways and absolutely delicious. 11/10

I HAVE BEEN COMING TO YOUR YORK SHOP SINCE IT OPENED. I USUALLY SPEND BETWEEN 50 AND 60 POUNDS AT A TIME.IT KEEPS WELL. WE EVEN TOOK A BATCH WITH US ON HOLIDAY TO PORTUGAL. THE SAUCES ARE THE BEST WE HAVE TASTED. MUCH BETTERTHAN MOST RESTERAUNTS. I ALWAYS GET THEM MILD, THEN I CAN MAKE THEM AS HOT AS I WANT BY ADDING CURRY POWDER OR CHILLIES. WILL SEE YOU SATURDAY 28th AS I HAVE RUN OUT. BY THE WAY THE FISH CURRYS ARE AS GOOD AS MEAT CURRIES FROM YOUR FROZEN FISH, MOST OF WHICH I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF.

On a visit to York at the beginning of September we came across your shop and just had to go inside. The aromas of all the differenct spices was fanstastic. We bought 4 different curry packs which were made up to our liking with advice from the friendly staff. We had a Madras for ourselves which was the best I've ever had and so easy to cook. We gave the other 3 to family who were also very impressed. We will certainly be ordering more online and I think you also may have gained another 3 customers!

Visited York last weekend and couldn't resist going into your shop and purchasing, Jalfrezi, Madras and a Thai Green. The staff were very helpful as it was extremely busy, I was asking questions about what was going in the bag and the information I got back was very informative. Very friendly staff and we will be trying the curry this weekend, (Jalfrezi) the rest I have now frozen. Can't wait to start ordering on-line, what a good idea. Glad we spotted and sniffed out the shop. Thanks!

From Canada and we love Rafi's Spice Box -- while on my first visit to England with my boyfriend, I saw the ad while in York and insisted we go and purchase spices and mixes as I love to cook -- while Richard was apprehensive at first when we got home and "experimented" we both agreed it was the best we've ever had. I was very surprised that while we were apart he went back to England and made a beeline for York and Rafi's .... Last night we had the seafood vindaloo and this morning I made omelets from the leftovers - just awesome!
Now we have one last pouch and I'm already on the website! Thank you so much! Kathy and Richard - Happy New Year from Canada!
