...well, at least it is round ours, cos m'Julie goes to college and so I indulge in curry, beer and football on the telly.  Our rabbit (not destined for the pot) tends to join me for the football, though he prefers carrots to curry.  Last season I was mainly eating the Indian-army tested Priya ready meals as they're dead quick and easy to do, and taste good as well. 

But now I want to get serious and cook from scratch, say on a Monday night so it has time to mature.  m'Julie has set a high standard recently with a top class dal. 

Any simple recipes that any of you can share (and rice tips) would be greatly appreciated.  I can cook but I am new to Indian cookery.
